Are You Ready?
Before you choose your new animal companion, ensure you have adequate space to house them comfortably. A fish tank takes up a lot less room than a big dog, and a rabbit might need space to run around outdoors.
First things first, you need to get your home kitted out for the arrival of a companion in the shape of an animal. Anything electrical that can be chewed by a little mouth should be kept safely out of reach. The same applies to specific foods, flowers, and even candles!
Ensure you have space for a dog or cat bed – it is important that they have their own space to feel comfortable. You will also need food, grooming products, leads, toys and access to fresh water. In the colder months, your pets will need to be kept warm and out of draughts; in the warmer months, they will need plenty of shade to help them to cool down.
